VARIATIONS

Variations in classical music are essentially about taking a theme or melody and altering it in various ways throughout a piece with still maintaining recognizable elements of the original theme

Examples are the Goldberg variations of Johann Sebastian Bach, the Diabelli variations of Ludwig van Beethoven and the Enigma variations of Edward Elgar

Substituting harmony, dynamics, rhythm and other musical elements for color, light and shadow, size and form, mixed materials, texture and other elements used in fine arts, has proven to be an interesting challenge, especially in a cross-over context.

46 variations have been created by exploring various interpretations, styles, and mixes of techniques and mediums while still retaining some recognizable elements from the original images.

These variations can be displayed in different combinations of themes and representations allowing for a three-dimensional custom oriented experience

The themes are all related to human leisure and sport activities.

They have been labelled:
